State Director of
Indian Affairs

Welcome to the Montana Governor's Office of Indian Affairs. Our office facilitates effective communications between the State of Montana and the Tribal Nations of Montana. We are committed to working on a government to government basis with the governing bodies of each tribal government.

As the State Director of Indian Affairs and a member of the Governor's Cabinet, my office work's diligently to seek consensus between the State and the Tribes on shared goals and principles, while serving state government, the state legislature, and the Montana congressional delegation as an advisor and intermediary in the field of Indian Affairs.

Many resources are available to you on this website and you will find many useful links that will allow you to find out information such as who the current tribal leadership is for each Nation, how to contact an enrollment office or a tribal college, and more.

If we can be assistance to you in navigating state government, contacting the Governor or other state officials, or answer questions related to working with Tribal Nations and Indian people, please contact us with questions or comments.
